Mono’s sensation is maintained in 2nd week

Mono rail imageMMRDA’s latest infrastructure project Monorail is well embraced by Mumbaikars, it has become the new sensation of the city. Within two weeks Monorail has gained huge response from the commuters. As per the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (MMRDA), statistics in 1st week 1, 36, 865 commuters and in 2nd week 1, 42, 410 commuters used mono, while traveling across the Wadala-Chembur corridor.

The Monorail did a total of 521 trips during the week. While the total sale was 2, 73, 898; total revenue earned was INR 27, 95, 115. Even the smart card sale continued to attract commuters with more than 500 smart cards sold in the second week.

The newly appointed Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA Mr Venugopal Reddy visited the Wadala Monorail station on Saturday and inspected the operations of the facility. “We are extremely content that the Monorail has continued the great service to the city,” said Mr Reddy.
