NGT asked the govt to explore possibilities for rehabilitation of illegal residents in South Delhi

NEW DELHI

Delhi government has been directed by the NGT for exploring the chance of rehabilitating unauthorized residents those live along a drain at a colony here.

Delhi government to intimate it about an alleging lack of sewage facilities at the residential complex in south Delhi, a bench headed by Justice Raghuvendra S Rathore asked.

The green panel has issued the directions for rehabilitating unauthorized residents after the claim of SDMC about temporary structures in the colony.

Sohan Krishan Sharma, a resident of A-70, Paryavaran Complex, Neb Sarai Road, IGNOU Road, New Delhi is a party respondent and all the applicants in person are directed to implead him regarding this matter.

Another expert in the bench Satyawan Singh Garbyal recently quoted that in the meanwhile, the State of NCT Delhi may pursue instructions regarding a substitute for these downtrodden people who are said to be having temporary structures on site of the drain.

The hearing for the matter is scheduled for September 24.
