No adequate accommodation for farmers after land acquisition

Lucknow: Due to housing development drive across the Uttar Pradesh state government has acquired several farmers’ land and in compensation package provided them with cheap housing units. Following to the famers’ demand the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has decided in the meeting to provide adequate accommodation for affected farmers by land acquisition.
The senior official of LDA said, “The farmers will not only be provided houses at a cost that will be only 35 per cent of the allotment price but also be allotted platforms which could be used for putting up shops.”
The LDA had acquired the land from 18 villages for the Vasant Kunj housing scheme on Hardoi road and the Nagar Prasar Yojana and Ambedkar Nagar Yojana on Sitapur road.
The LDA will now be building 112 houses in Vasant Kunj and 160 houses in Jankipuram extension on Sitapur road for the affected farmers.
However, the housing units has been distributed among the farmers after a due lottery process.
