A collaboration is going to be formed between the Reliance Infrastructures Mumbai Metro and Google ,to supply the details and information about the service of Mumbai Metro One, an official spokesperson said here. The Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) is tied up with Google Maps to provide the people its authentic timetable with related geographic details on all the Metro stations on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar route.
The trip timings are provided on each service, in the Google Maps app, ,operated at a frequency of four minutes in peak times and eight minutes in non-peak hours. The timings of the local trains displayed through the app can help the public in planning their journeys efficiently and to reach their destinations faster.
“We diligently explore all the possible ways of making the journey of the commuters seamless and convenient, and the tie-up with Google Maps adds another step to digitize Mumbai Metro One,” the spokesperson explained.
On Google Maps app , a tap on the Metro Services Option opens a departure board which displays the schedules of the upcoming Metro services from that station in both directions. This app will also showcase the important facilities like staircases, escalators, elevators, ticket counters, including road and platforms to help the mumbaikars.
The Metro One is enhancing the east-west suburban connectivity in Mumbai, and reducing the Versova- Ghatkopar commute from 90 minutes to 21 minutes now. The 11.4 km long MMOPL – Maharashtra’s first Metro – is a significant milestone in the history of Indian Railway.
