The registrar of societies has directed to the residents of multi-storeyed apartments in Noida and Ghaziabad that only original owners of flats be allowed for membership of the respective societies of apartments. The orders have been issued after several complaints from residents that non-owners of flats and outsiders continue to get membership in housing societies, thereby creating hurdles. The registrar has also ordered that RWAs be allowed to file for registrations only after 33% owners move into the apartments. The UP registrar of firms, Societies and chits has issued the orders through a letter asking concerned departments of all districts to take necessary action.
Residents had also been complaining that in several housing apartment societies has been formed well before residents moved in to occupy flats. This as per residents did not provide opportunities to legal owners of flats to have any affairs in the matter of society.
However resident are also taking the order with a pinch of salt given the fact that model by laws of Apartment Act have not been ordered to be implemented.
