In a move to terminate the rising of illegal buildings or unauthorized buildings, the Bombay High Court (BHC) directed Local Municipal Corporation to organise a procedure to act on complaints against illegal structures. On Tuesday it also ordered a survey of all unauthorized building in Bhiwandi.
During the hearing petitions of illegal buildings, the Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Riyaz Chagla said, it is because of the municipal corporation’s inaction that builders are disposing of flats and premises in such illegal buildings. If the buildings are occupied it creates complications for its demolition.
There are over 50,000 illegal buildings in Bhiwandi, petitioners said.
