PCMC property tax proposal rejected by Panel

In this week the standing committee of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has rejected a proposal which has been proposed by the administration to hike property tax by 4%. According to the Chairperson of the committee said that “the property tax for the forthcoming year should be the same as the contemporary tax.
As per the committee’s proposal it was obligatory to hike the income from the several sources such as taxes and other sources, considering the cost escalation in development projects and expenditure on providing civic amenities.
At the time of increasing the property tax by 4percent civic body has explained that retired army-men and freedom fighters rights will remains the same 50percent subvention on general tax. There had been no revision in cleanliness tax, fire tax, road tax and special cleanliness tax.
