Pune: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) seeking one years’ extension from High Court to act against the 1.10Lakh illegal building those are built within the civic territory.
However, the High Court has already given the extension period to civic body which has expired on 31st March. Additional commissioner Prakash Kadam said, “The civic body approached the high court last week to seek the extension. The hearing on the application is on April 9.”
“The PCMC had proposed to the state government to legalizing the illegal buildings. We have sought the extension since the proposal is under consideration,” Prakash Kadam added.
In the vicinity of municipal corporation there are 82,818 illegal construction and 27,593 are in the Pimpri Chinchwad New Township Development Authority and Maharashtra Industries Development Corporation limits.
