The general body of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) approved the annual budget for the next financial year 2016-17 with a total outlay of Rs 3,982.52crore at its meeting on Monday.
Chief accounts officer at PCMC Pramod Bhosale said, “Municipal commissioner Rajeev Jadhav had tabled the draft budget with an outlay of Rs 3,982 crore before the standing committee last month. The committee approved it on February 19 and sent it to the general body for its approval. Discussions on the draft budget were held at the special general body meeting on March 17 wherein corporators had tabled seven supplementary proposals. These proposals were approved on Monday.
Bhosale said the supplementary proposals were about development works in the six zones of the city. The seventh supplementary proposal was related to various development works in the city .The accounts department scrutinized the work mentioned in each of the supplementary proposals and prepared a list of eligible suggestions of development works that could be included in the budget.
The supplementary proposals have a total of 280 suggestions related to development works. A total of 24 suggestions were found to be ineligible. The outlay of the budget has not increased or decreased, Bhosale stated.
