Piramal Capital to invest Rs 5,000 Cr in real estate

HYDERABAD

Piramal Capital on Thursday said to boost its business from real estate segment, it has pledged to invest more than Rs 5,000 crore over the next two years in Hyderabad’s real estate sector.

According to Khushru Jijina, managing director, Piramal Finance Limited and Piramal Housing Finance Limited, “We have always believed in the growth potential of Hyderabad. We, therefore, made a conscious decision to act as first movers in the market and started deploying capital when most of our competitors chose to stay away because of their vintage investments in the state. We look to commit more than Rs 5,000 crore towards the Hyderabad real estate market over the next 24 months.”

In Hyderabad, Piramal Capital has sanctioned over Rs 2,000 crore towards construction and finance of (Loan Against Property-LAP/Lease Rental Discounting-LRD).
