Days back news floated that government is planning to provide facility which will allow the residents of Mumbai to register their property documents at their convenience. From starting 4th October, the registration of property documents will be done throughout the day i.e. from 7am to 9pm, where at present it’s only between 10am to 5pm which gives limited time.
Two new offices are in pipeline, for south mumbaikars at Worli, Adarsh Nagar in which one will work from 7am to 2 pm and the other will operate between 2pm to 9pm. similar arrangements is readied for the residents of suburbs a new office at Khar which will be functional by month –end. Revenue Minister Balasheb Thorat will inaugurate the new branches.
Inspector general of registration and stamp controller said, ‘’this will definitely save time and office-goers will sign-up before or after time.’ The plan will push the transaction by five and also will ease the burden on the existing set –up.
In next few months plans are cooking to set-up new offices in the city which will see an average 2 lakh documents register annually.
