The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s new Development Plan, though comprises of plans for the infrastructure, housing and socio development of the city, it has received many criticisms related to the enormous increase in Floor Space Index (FSI) and diminishing Aarey’s green land development.
When Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis was questioned about the criticism he replied, “The proposed plan is not final, the government will approve the plan only after considering opinions and objections from every section.” Further, he said, the government will approve the plan by the end of the year, after implementing necessary changes as per suggestions.
CM assures, that his government will not permit to destroy city’s largest green land Aarey colony for commercial development. Our efforts will be to preserve our green and open space. Though, he shows his support for utilising some land of Aarey for public purpose projects.
Even, BMC has issued notification for public feedback on Development Plan 2034, people can submit their opinions and objections for the proposed DP.
