Pune to be world-class city with help of various schemes

The centre and state in a move to make Pune city a world-class city through various development schemes, on Friday Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis did Bhumi Pujan of Dumjali flyover in Karve Nagar area and said Pune Municipal Corporation and Maha Metro jointly has shaped the coming Kave Nagar areas.

During the event, CM mentioned several development schemes implemented in Pune. Through Maha Metro, the work is in progress and will provide a permanent solution to the problem of traffic. If the city is developed in a globally way then the transport system has a vital role, he said.

Dr Brijesh Dixit Managing Director, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd appreciated the state governments work and said in the first year of Metro 15% work is completed, but in Pune 25%.

Pune Municipal Corporation has made a provision of Rs 35 crores for this project. However, the bridge will help to overcome the deadlock on the future of transportation.

CM said PMC should purchase electric buses, saying that the non-AC and non-polluting buses will help to keep the atmosphere pure.

Guardian Minister Girish Bapat said, “Pune city is fast growing city and pace of development in the city has also increased. It is necessary to create infrastructure for education, health and public transport system.”
