Navi Mumbai Takes The RECITY Initiative: stakeholders come together for sustainable collective change
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and NAREDCO Maharashtra, will partner with Experts, Academia and NGOs to address urban issues pro-actively Navi Mumbai, 14th Nov 2016: The first RECITY Public Forum has been jointly convened by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Architecture and RECITY Initiative, with support of NAREDCO Maharashtra. The event will be held on 18th November 2016 at the CIDCO Convention Centre in Navi Mumbai.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner, Honorable Shri Tukaram Mundhe, I.A.S., will felicitate this first of its kind ushering in proactive change to tackle some of the most common issues plaguing Navi Mumbai.
“For Navi Mumbai, it is the right time to encourage the study of waste management, sustainable transport and wetland preservation by students, teachers and experts,” said Shri Tukaram Mundhe. He added that the RECITY initiative is ‘the call of the hour’, and termed it “a chance to redo, restore and revive our city”.
Niranjan Hiranandani, Founder-President NAREDCO Maharashtra wished the RECITY Public Forum the very best. “NAREDCO Maharashtra will support RECITY's thoughtful step for a green urban vision,” he said. About RECITY: RECITY is an initiative which will partner with relevant stakeholders like students, government, NGOs and citizens; empowering them to not just reside in, but ‘belong to their city’. It aims to develop consensus and promote collective problem solving.
