Heritage structure “Mannat” owned by Shahrukh Khan is again in the trouble. This time the extension of ramp along road side built by the actor was objected by locals and MP Poonam Mahajan. BMC officials have confirmed the service of notice on the actor.
Members of the NGO Watchdog Foundation had been pressing for the demolition of a ramp built on Cement Road in Bandra. The ramp constructed near film actor Shahrukh Khan’s bungalow they claimed was causing an obstruction to devotees reaching up to the Mount Mary basilica.
“Especially during the days of the Mount Mary fair in September every year large number of devotees visiting the basilica use the road where the ramp has been built upon. It is built on a public street and therefore we were asking the same to be removed. It was disappointing to see the actor’s vanity van on the same road thus obstructing a substantial amount of the stretch,” said advocate Godfrey Pimenta, trustee of Watchdog , Foundation.
