SP wants to name Mumbai coastal road after former president late Abdul Kalam

Abdul KalamSamajwadi Party (SP) wants the  ambitious coast road which will connect South Mumbai’s Nariman Point to Western Mumbai’s Kandivali, to be named after former President late APJ Abdul Kalam. Party people said they will talk to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and suggest him to do so.

Mr. Abu Azmi, Lawmaker, SP said, “We are going to write letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Fadnavis and suggest them to name coastal road after late Dr. Kalam. Dr. was a great president and a noble personality, so naming the coastal road after him will be a great way to give him a tribute.”

Even Shiv Sena has asserted their wish to name the coastal road after late Shiv Sena, Founder, Bal Thackeray. Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Prabhu wrote a letter to CM Fadnavis and mentioned their demand.

The coastal road project is already running with many controversies like many citizens are not happy with the project as it will steal the cities natural waterfront. Also, BJP and Shiv Sena both the parties are arguing over the credit for the project development and approvals. This demand from SP and Shiv Sena both the parties will bring in another controversy related to the project.
