SPPL gets 500 crore from Maharashtra Government for Slum Improvement and Rehabilitation

Mumbai : 12th Aug 2015 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced Rs.500 crore funds for Shiv Shahi Punarvasan Prakalp which was established to fund redevelopment and rehabilitation of slums in Maharashtra. The Corporation was formed with 500 crore equity from MHADA and and MMRDA.

In the meeting, all board members were present. UD Secretary Shri Nitin Kareer, Housing Secretary Shri Shrikant Singh, SRA CEO Shri Ashim Gupta, Mumbai Mayor Smt Snehal Ambekar, State Minister for Housing Ravindra Vykar, Chief Secretary Shri Swadhin Chhatriya and others.

The meeting have authorised and simplified the process of redevelopment and rehabilitation of slums. Till now it was 70% majority need to go for redevelopment but now at least 50% must be present in the meeting. Besides this many other decisions were taken in the meeting to ease the process of rehabilitation and redevelopment.

Technology of GPS and ETS will be deployed to identify the slums areas, GIS survey and other advance version of surveys will be deployed to acertain slums. Affordable housing being chief on agenda, SRA reforms are declared by Chief Minister at Mantralaya.
