The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) has not received a single proposal so far in the two months after the amendment of Development Control Rules (DCR). Whereas, situation was different before the amendment of DC rules, on an average SRA was submitting around 10 to 15 proposals.
Authorities further said that, realtors and their architecture are struggling to understand the lingo of amended DC rules such as fungible floor space index etc. It will take more time to get familiar with the amended Dc rules then only the architects will be able to design the housing plans and subsequently submit them, officials said. Due to implementation of DC rules BMC haven’t approved a single proposal so far.
In every single SRA project developers can build approx 200 to300 housing units. Whereas, according to the amended the SRA will not be liberal as it used to be.
