State enthrone rights of land allotment to collector and div commissioner

Pune: State government has given the rights of land allotment to district collector and divisional collector, due to the delay in land allotment even though government has sanctioned the funds to develop public convenience and projects. Under this new order they will be having rights to give possession of plots of land of up to one hectares and five hectares respectively.
Earlier state government has issued government resolution (GR) declared that demand for land for public amenities increasing day to day in the entire state but due to delay in land allotment results in delayed projects. According to senior officials even the fund has been sanctioned by the state still remains unused and the concerned department asking for the return of approved money. On the basis of the anonymity officer said that to trounce from this crisis government has assigned the land allotment rights to collectors and divisional commissioners the power to allot land in advance. Except the limits of Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), collectors and divisional commissioners in all districts will have this power.
