State Govt to spend over Rs 300 Cr to acquire land for direct pipeline project

About 300 crores of rupees will be given for land acquisition to develop a direct pipeline project for Solapur, the pipeline project should be completed in a big way, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in a meeting.

The drinking water for Solapur city from Ujani dam is at the planning process.  “The cost of the land acquisition and the project is about Rs 350 crores, which is delaying the execution of tender process”, officials of Solapur Municipal corporation said.

The meeting also revealed that priority should be given to the construction of new houses for 220 declassed slums under the Prime Minister’s scheme of Solapur city . In this scheme, the corporation should make special efforts for maximum citizen participation. The state government had recently decided to provide Rs 120 crores to the housing project in Ray Nagar, an officials said.

Funds required for urban suburban drainage scheme , turban treatment plant and water supply scheme to be constructed from Amrit Abhiyan in Solapur . In case need of more money, funds will be given from Nagarothana scheme , it added.
