State proposed to provide house to slum dwellers

The state housing department has proposed to state government to provide a house to all slum families across the city, if approved then slum dwellers will get a house. In a move that will cut off the slums deadline is unrelated, so the housing department has proposed to provide dwelling rights to all slum dwellers.
According to the proposal those slum dwellers who has settled before the 1st Jan 1995 are liable for free housing, whereas those who has settled after the date will be illegible only for 50% of the construction cost.
To make legal provisions for the move, the department has proposed introduction of
new chapter in the Maharashtra Slum Act, 1971.
