Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA) would start the construction of 2,000 new EWS and LIG houses in its area this financial year. Against the target of construction of 5,000 houses, they would be able to construct only 3,000 new homes this year.
“For construction of these homes, we have started taking possession of land that was acquired by the authority in the past.” said an official.
Meanwhile, SUDA has also approved a new contract of Rs 100crore for the construction of 1200 new homes in Puna -Kumbhariya area. SUDA would also be conducting a draw for newly built 737 houses on July 17. In all 5375 people have applied for these houses. Out of these 331 houses are built in Vesu for which maximum of 2,500 applications have been received whereas draws for Devadh -Kumbhariya block too draw would be made on the same day.
