The number of housing projects under Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) is gaining its momentum. TNREARA registered 17 housing projects in a fortnight in December. Since the authority came into force in Tamil Nadu on June 22 this year, the number of housing projects have raised to 262.
Of the 17 new projects, fifteen are buildings spread across Chennai, Coimbatore Cuddalore and Kancheepuram districts. And rests two are layouts in Krishnagiri and Tiruvallur districts.
New housing projects with a minimum of eight units should be registered with the real estate regulatory authority, according to the rules of Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017.
Residential plots also come under the purview of the realty regulator, which can be registered after necessary approvals by the respective planning authorities.
