Tamil Nadu RERA issues list of 40 ongoing projects ‘not meant for sale’ in Chennai

The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) has published the list of 40 ongoing projects in Chennai on its official portal, from these projects buyers cannot purchase any units. The promoters of these projects have declared that they are not meant for sale.

A notice on the TNRERA’s official portal said the regulator had issued notices to the promoters of respective buildings directing for registration of project as they bound under Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). The owners/promoters of these buildings replied that their buildings are not meant for sale to general public, it’s for own use.

As a result, these buildings have not been registered with the regulator. “The public may take note that the promoters/developers of these projects are not authorised to sell any space in the project under Section 3 of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016,” the notice added.

“Based on planning permission issued by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), we have published the list online,” a TNRERA official said.
