Thane Municipal allotting 100acres land for building engg institute

Thane Municipal Corporation has decided to allot government plot of 100acres of land to build engineering institute. This satellite centre will be proved boon to students from Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli, Ambernath, Badlapur, Titwala, Shahpur and Bhiwandi. The Institute of Chemical Technology called UCDT showed interest in the building the campus in the city.

The civic body will table a proposal to allot a plot at Khidkali on Shil Road. The corporation has designated certain areas in the city as green zones where it intends to preserve the ecological balance by inviting educational institutes to set up campus. Official from the town planning said, thane has many colleges however there are no big institutes like those in Mumbai and Pune. The civic body had planned to invite much government run educational institutions to the city. We will be allotting the green zone plots to these institutes. They will not only give Thane a new identity as an educational hub, but will also save green zones from falling prey to land sharks. If the Thane plot meets these requirement the engineering aspirants in the city wont have to travel far from home to get a degree.
