Triumph for residents, Monorail prop moved

Mumbai: The residents close to the Sakaram Pawar Marg near Currey Road station staged protest against the position of one of the pillars planned for the second phase of the monorail, the protest forced to authorities to change the position of monorail pillars.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) authority have faced the agitation which has staged by residents alleged that one of the prop will obstruct water trucks from coming into the area. Residents also cited that, at the time of emergency it will also create difficulties for rescue vehicles and fire brigade to work smoothly.
The MMRDA has appointed a team to look into matter but it hasn’t found any authentication to justify the residents’ fears. Though, after discussing with residents as well as technical experts the authority decided to change the position of pillar.
