Women in Haryana to own 3.5 lakh affordable houses: CM

For the empowerment, the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said lakh affordable houses would be registered in name of women of beneficiary families. To provide house to poor in urban and rural areas, Haryana has launched Priyadarshani Awaas Yojna to build 2 lakh houses for rural poor and 1.5 units under Affordable Urban Housing policy 2013 in urban areas.

CM addressing said, women will seldom sell off her home. It will ensure that the subsidized houses are not sold off by men. While announcing that the state government will register the houses in name of the women from the poor families. Every individual should own a house.

The scheme Priyadarshani Awaas Yojna, under which each of the beneficiaries will be allocated Rs 81,000 as grant for construction of a new house. An assistance of Rs 9,100 will also be provided under the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan. The state government has made budgetary allocation of Rs 350 crore under the scheme and HUDCO will finance the Rs 1350 crore scheme. The government is also working for urban poor by building 1.5 lakh houses by 2014-15 through Housing Board, Urban Local Bodies and Country Planning.

The government lately has been facing a lot of flake as women intolerance has been rise. A majority of beneficiaries under the housing scheme will fall in the category.
